Join WPFW’s Outreach Committee — amplify community voice, expand listener support, and shape the future of our listener-powered radio.
WPFW is listener-supported and community-centered. Outreach is the bridge between the station and the people we serve: neighbors, artists, activists, students, and listeners who depend on diverse, independent programming.
The Outreach Committee makes sure WPFW shows up where the community is — at neighborhood events, cultural festivals, schools, and public forums — so our signal is more than radio: it’s civic engagement, cultural exchange, and mutual support.
What the Outreach Committee does
Plan and staff tabling and information booths at events across the DMV to recruit listeners, volunteers, and sustaining members.
Build partnerships with community organizations, cultural institutions, and grassroots groups for co-promotions and joint programming.
Create and implement membership drives, public awareness campaigns, and fundraising activities grounded in the station’s mission.
Track community needs and report back to leadership so content and outreach remain responsive and relevant.
