Back 2 Paradise brings soulful deep house to WPFW, named for the Paradise Garage era that shaped the sound. Byron “B-Note” Brown came up through the station as an engineer for the Decipher collective before launching the program in May 2016 as the first show of its kind on 89.3 FM. Alongside Derrick “D Train” Coleman, he builds sets that treat house music as a living Black dance tradition rather than a nightclub afterthought. The program offers listeners a weekly space where the groove is continuous, the selection is deep, and the roots of the music stay in view.
