WPFW presents Cuba Libre: Honoring the Cuban People, and Commemorating the Centennial Birthday of El Comandante Fidel Castro on Thursday, August 13 from midnight to midnight.
The programming will unpack the current situation on the ground, as well as the areas of music and culture, medicine, literacy, education, renewable energy, gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, elder care, the Afro-descendants initiative, and more. It will also discuss Cuba’s contemporary and historical significance within a Pan-African and Caribbean context, and the historical cultural relationship between Cuba and the United States.
