The Labor Heritage Power Hour brings the art and soul of the American labor movement to WPFW. Hosts Chris Garlock and Elise Bryant blend labor history with arts and culture, celebrating the cultural heritage of workers rather than treating labor as a policy beat. Garlock is executive director of the Labor Heritage Foundation, runs the annual DC Labor FilmFest — one of very few film festivals in the world devoted to labor — and coordinates the Global Labor FilmFest Network and the Labor Radio Podcast Network. The program invites listeners into the songs, stories, and struggles that define working life in America.
