Kulcha Shak bridges the cultural gap between Africa and its global diaspora. Host DJ Zee-Lion Ziah Ayubu was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines at a time when Rastas were targeted and harassed, an experience that shaped his commitment to culture and community. He joined the programming team around 2016 after a friend told him the station needed a reggae host, and now co-hosts with his wife, Sista Kim Bey. Founder of the Proverbs Reggae Band, a five-time DC Reggae Award winner and a Wammie winner, he took second place on Caribbean night at the Apollo. His premise is simple: music is the healing of the nation.
