Chris Garlock

Co-Host, Labor Heritage Power Hour

Chris Garlock is a veteran labor communicator who brings the art and soul of the American labor movement to WPFW as the co-host of the Labor Heritage Power Hour. Every Thursday at 1 p.m., Chris and co-host Elise Bryant use the airwaves to celebrate the cultural heritage of workers, blending labor history with arts and culture.

Beyond his work in the studio, Chris serves as the Executive Director of the Labor Heritage Foundation. He is a driving force behind the annual DC Labor FilmFest, one of the few film festivals in the world dedicated to labor themes, and serves as a coordinator for both the Global Labor FilmFest Network and the Labor Radio Podcast Network.

Chris is also a prolific producer of digital content, helping to keep labor history alive through podcasts such as Labor History Today, Labor Radio Podcast Daily, and Labor Radio Podcast Weekly. His deep roots in the movement include previous service as the Union Cities/Street Heat Coordinator for the Metro Washington Council, AFL-CIO.

With an extensive background as a labor communicator across both print and radio, Chris remains dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of the working class. He invites the WPFW community to join him in exploring the songs, stories, and struggles that define the American worker.
