Campbell joined the station in 2024 and comes to the microphone with deep roots in D.C.’s independent music economy: he owns HR Records, a vinyl shop specializing in rare jazz and soul, directs Home Rule Music and Film, and produces the Home Rule Music Festival. His sets draw on that same catalog, favoring records that rarely surface on commercial radio. For listeners, the program is both a listening hour and a standing invitation into the wider D.C. music community that Campbell spends the rest of his week building.
