Craig Williams

Host, Morning Brew — Classic Jazz Edition

Craig Williams has been a devoted part of the WPFW community since the station's very first broadcast in 1977. While he was a student in architecture school, Craig began a lifelong journey with the station as a loyal listener and member, eventually becoming a major donor and volunteer activist. After decades of support, Craig realized his childhood dream of becoming a DJ when his sister, Miyuki Williams, trained him to operate the control board in 2016.

Today, Craig hosts Morning Brew — Classic Jazz Edition, where he guides listeners through a curated selection of straight-ahead jazz, bebop, and brand-new releases. A self-proclaimed jazz nerd, he loves to experiment by blending blues, gospel, and even rock and roll into his sets to create a unique, curated experience for his audience. Craig believes deeply in the power of curated radio over computer algorithms, aiming to provide programming that enlightens the mind and strengthens the soul.

Beyond the airwaves, Craig is a mostly-retired architect with a passion for urban photography, dog rescue, and world travel. When he isn't attending live jazz performances, he is often in his kitchen, cooking gourmet meals without recipes using fresh ingredients from his own backyard garden. Though he navigates life with moderately severe dyslexia, Craig relies on his steel-trap memory to keep his broadcasts smooth and his music selection sharp for the WPFW community.
