Daman Harris

Host, #UMustLearn

Dr. Daman Harris is an educator, author, and nonprofit leader who brings a deep commitment to expanding educational opportunities to the WPFW airwaves. As a collective member and host of #UMustLearn, he helps lead one of the DMV's most trusted sources for conversations on liberatory education, equity, and social justice.

Beyond the studio, Dr. Harris is a driving force in educational reform. He is the co-founder and co-director of The BOND Project and leads Capacity Education, LLC, working with schools and organizations to develop practices that improve outcomes for students and communities. A nationally recognized expert in his field, he is also the author of the book The Antiracist School Leader: What to Know, Say, and Do.

Daman's connection to the station began in 2022 when he moved from being a guest on #UMustLearn to a fill-in host, eventually joining the permanent hosting collective. He is motivated by the belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for strengthening communities and views WPFW as a vital platform for amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. Through his work on the air, he aims to provide listeners with practical insights and thoughtful dialogue that move beyond the headlines to inspire real-world action.

Daman lives by a clear personal mantra: "Learn deeply. Lead courageously. Leave every community stronger than you found it." He encourages the WPFW family to stay curious and engaged, advising listeners to seek out perspectives that challenge their own and to remember that their voice matters.
